Plano, Texas - A new Earls Kitchen + Bar opens at Legacy West, Plano

General Manager, Chelsea Burns and Head Chef, Chris Memme are the dynamic duo who will be heading up an amazing group of staff at Earls Restaurant's first Texas location located at the Legacy West development in Plano!

To Texans, except for the expat Canadians in the city, Earls Kitchen + Bar is just another new restaurant. They don’t consider us a chain, heck, they haven’t even heard of us!  Not only have they never heard we had excellent food and drinks, they’ve never heard we were also a great employer (in Canada, where we have 59 locations, we were named the Best Employer in the country).

So in order to change that and introduce ourselves to Texas, the first thing we did was get our management team out to Plano to start recruiting staff and joining in on some community events to show off our food and drinks. Look for us at the Taste of Cowboys event May 7 and the Legacy West Grand Opening Weekend June 2-4. We would love to say hi!

Construction & Design

Each of our restaurants are designed uniquely so if you think you know Earls because you have been to one of our locations in Chicago, Miami, Orlando or Toronto, you would be wrong. You might be interested to know that each restaurant is very different. The footprint is based on the location of the restaurant, the design based on a team of designers that custom design everything from furniture to windows, lighting, even wallpaper. Local art is curated and commissioned to support local artists and reflect the city or region, while making a major impact on the look of the restaurant. At Legacy West, we worked with Dallas artist Kyle Steed on an amazing wall piece, as well as Jason Willaford who is all about manipulating materials to create something recognizable.

Food, Wine & Cocktails

So yes, we are a chain, but we are working hard to “unchain the chain” and as such our core menu is common to many of our restaurants but each location has a few items customized for that market. The recipes, fresh and made from scratch in house daily, have been tested – first at our Test Kitchen in Vancouver, then at a few select restaurants across our regions, then to all the restaurants once our guests have given feedback. Our dishes are ingredient forward and globally-inspired, with a fresh take on some American-Canadian style classics. No matter if you are in the mood for the Hunan Kung Pao, Spicy Tuna Sushi Press, Jeera Chicken Curry or a Bigger Better Burger, our menu has something for every palette.

Craft cocktails - Well known Beverage Director Cameron Bogue (Daniel Boulud, NY,  Fairmont, Oregon’s Heathman Hotel) has created cocktails that use pure fresh ingredients, whimsical vessels and both classic and trending combinations such as the Bees Knees, Grapefruit Negroni and Frozen Pink Lemonade.  His beer list features local craft beers from the Texas area. Wines, available by the glass and bottle, offer both new world and old world selections. We even have a few excellent Canadian wines (nope, not ice wine) from British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley if you’ve never tried it.  

We’re opening our doors at the newest Earls restaurant in the Legacy West development mid-June!
