Prawn Dynamite Roll Contest Submissions

Author: Last month, we launched a contest to win a $500 Earls Gift Card. The Contest required you to try our new Prawn Dynamite Rolls in a strange and unique way. Basically, you had to finish this sentence: “I love to eat my Prawn Dynamite Rolls while __________ !”. But the catch was that you had to do it with a photo or a video!
Well the contest started off slow, but little did we know, that was because our wonderful fans were all busy shooting, filming and editing videos and photos for the contest! We received a number of amazing entries, which are currently being judged by a panel of Earls Executives! In the meanwhile, I wanted to bring all of the photo and video contest submissions together in this blog post, so that I could share them with you all in one place! Check out below for all the submissions that came in from our wonderful fans, David, Genina, Jasmine, Brooke, Andy, Datis, Tara, Hakique and Daniela! Enjoy!

I enjoyed jasmine’s video because it showed a lot of effort in showcasing the prawn rolls as a dish fit to satisfy all lifestyles, and personalities. Creative and original ideas.

Jasmine Leslie’s video. There were so many ways and looks like a lot of work was put into it.
My fave is definitely the photo of the girl with the sushi on her, that photo is an ad agency’s dream shot, intriguing and to the point in one awesome frame. it’s edgy and hip and should be in a magazine or on the side of a bus.
Coming from a professional cinematographer and filmmaker. Only Jasmine’s film delivers. There is substance, creative story telling, more than multiple filming locations, proper lighting, good acting and generally speaking.. a good viewing experience.
The rest of the films submitted for this contest are complete garbage.
I gotta give it to ridicoulously handsome. The work put into the transitioning, backdrops and coordination deserves a prize. It’s also very creative and the lines are related to earls and it’s world class dining experience. If anyone has seen the original ad, you’ll k ow why ittook great effort to duplicate it. Jasmine’s video, while great, lacked creativity. It reminded me of watching an infomercial.
All this being said, I hope the judges choose the best video, the ridiculously handsome one. May the best video win.
I feel that the “ridiculous handsome” video is the best because of the creativity and work put into it. It’s the only one that actively promotes the earls name. They went through the work of making a set and bringing into earls itself. The script is hilarious and must have taken a ton of practice to have that towel fall so perfectly and have everyone syncronized so well all in one solid take. Well done.
Jasmine’s video rocked! at first I couldn’t believe how well it was put together, there was clearly lots of time and effort put into it….It was funny,cute,creative and it made me really want to go to Earl’s to try the prawn dynamite roll!!! From a consumer’s perspective it showed the product and made it look wonderful. I laughed and smiled with this video and was fully entertained, it made me want to show others as well.
Haha. Love the ridiculously handsome parody. Can’t stop laughing and that guy is soo hot. Good work putting all together so it goes so smoothly. What it lacks in fliming equipment and pre made effects it more than makes up for in heart and personality and I think that is what this contest is all about. Good job.
I thought Jasmine’s was great! It showed she put alot of effort going to all those locations showing where she loves to eat her prawn dynamite rolls!
The old spice spoof guy was cool too… but who doesnt like the old spice guy?

It was by far the most original idea and i mean come on… who can do a gainer in short shorts holding chop sticks?!?!?!!! SOO HOT!!!!

All are ok but one really stands out. I thought it was about promotion of the earls, and the product. And creativity. And the rediculous handsome guy really did represent. It was short but it was sweet! Even without a perfessional camera. the acting by far was the best. And the video is the most watchable. By far!!
David’s “extreme” video was definitely the best. I didn’t see anyone else doing gainers off the 7m diving board, he couldn’t have done it without the prawn rolls! Sick video. You win David

The “extreme” video done by David was so great! The music and the dialogue was done so well and the video itself is just hilarious. By far the best, definitely the winner hands down! Well done David!
I would say #1, and #4 (david and jasmine?) did the best at representing the Prawn Rolls themselves, while being fun and original.
Jasmine’s video no doubt! looooooooved the prego part, with the prawn rolls the only thing to satisfy her cravings!

STEP UP AND BE A PRAWN!!!!!!…….lol the best video of them all. I watch all of them and that one was the only one that made me laugh, blows all of the other videos out of the pool!!!!
Emergency Romm was too funny and the vid effects were good.Everywher ean Anywhere the acting was better, beginning needed more work, awkward.
Everywhere and anyway, cuz the acting was so much better! It was very versitile!

E.R. was a great idea, and showed how much the guy actually loved prawn rolls. The acting was hilariously bad, which made it even more funny. Hands down, best.
Loved the idea of the guy with the shellfish allergy. That was totally creative. The other one with some good thought behind it was the old spice guy, but it wasn’t as well executed or as relevant as the E.R. one. For sure E.R. has my vote.
Emergency room one was by far the best. The guy needed a shot every time he ate a prawn, but he kept eating em! Brilliant!
My favorite had to be the wheezy guy in the E.R. Talk about dedication to your favorite appy!
E.R. rocked. There were some others that were good quality videos and OK ideas, but nothing made the point like the guy risking his life for a prawn roll. I’m a little pissed my tax dollars went to saving him every time he gulped down a prawn, but worse things have happened.
Definitely the hospital one should win. Rip snorting funny. The stupid dude kept eating those prawn rolls till the doctor killed him and stole em. Classic.

Enjoyed them all…. some more than others.Personally I think it is between David’s and Jasmine’s video.
I really laughed at David’s and it was really cute( cute butt) although it seemed to focus more on Earl’s girls than the Dynamite Prawn rolls.
But that is just my opinion!
Jasmine eats them and likes them so much that she has a diary about them!!
I think she demonstrated how great these Fabulous prawn rolls…. are by stating that they are fit for royalty,luxurious,almost sinfuland fun to eat, and very addictive.

jazmines is amazing. good effort put into it and she showed how diff people would enjoy them. she must have put alot of time and effort into all the locations and wardrobe changes and choices. best one.

I enjoyed Jasmine’s video, it was funny and creative.
A lot of good stuff. The diving one had a good line to it. The ER one was creative but i dont find anafliactic shock funny.Jasmines had some work put into it but it just ended up being a few kinda cute mostly awkward lines with long pauses and premade computor effects. The old spice one didnt have any editing but it had good enough set acting and coreography not to need it. Even tho its been done before it had an orginal and funny script to make it unique. Good job everyone.
ive read all the comments and i dont see how jazmines is good. its just some editing, and her in a nice dress. im glad u like to eat prawn rolls while life is a beach…no relevance at all. the lines weren’t funny at all. just awkward. and the ER one. come on. if u think for a moment. people have died from allergic reations. thats not funny at all. all your doing the hole video is choking and breathing heavy. honestly people, the diving one is good and the old spice one is good to. i liked the line, “dont be a shrimp, be a prawn. really, the old spice one was original. there my be others that were created, but not about earls.. u can tell its raw material and good at the same time, no editing needed. its gonna come down the diving one or the old spice one.

Jasmine’s Video “Everywhere, and Anywhere” was super awesome. It focussed less on HER, and more on the PRAWN ROLLS themselves. Each scene showed the Dynamite Prawn Rolls as something to fit every lifestyle, and craving situation. The many Ideas compiled show a lot of originality! Woot!
Reading the comments above I’m little disgusted. I don’t believe this is the place to be bashing anyone’s video/picture. All the contestants put forth a great effort, especially since approximately 8 ppl decided to try for it at all?
Now, I don’t know Jasmine or the ER guy but you must feel threatened by them in order to have to cut them down.
Furthermore, her editing skills may not have been as advanced, but it was my understanding this contest was “How I like to eat my Dynamite Prawns ROlls” NOT “How great I am at film creation”.
The slogans used ALL had relevance and purpose. “While Life’s a BEACH” implies the effect this dish has on uplifting ones spirits after a long hard day. They may have been cheesy but many thought it was a cute aid in expressing her addiction to this dish.
I don’t believe the ER video was by any means trying to belittle the seriousness of anaphylaxis, but merely express the EXTENT one would go through to indulge in such deliciousness. The Idea behind it was a lot more creative than “Old spice” It doesn’t take much to rewrite the script to someone else’s advertisement. HOWEVER, it was their expression and it was executed nicely, and provided a few laughs.
These submissions all deserve acknowledgement. Of course we will all take a liking to one or another more than the rest, but it’s only personal preference and I would say it’s in poor taste to discredit any of these entries.

As I stated earlier in my comments I think there were so few people that entered I think they all deserve applause for their efforts.
Every one is entitled to their opinions and no need to put anyone down in a mean way.Yes they must feel threatned if they keep bashing them.
